Settings
The Meta Extender saves some configuration parameters in a setting file. These configuration parameters are restored when the Meta Extender recognizes that it is restarted on the same symbol. Managing the setting files is fully automated, eliminating the need for manual modification. However, if desired, you can manually edit them. Each settings file is a standard text file that can be edited with any text editor.
A practical option is the ability to copy the setting files to another Meta Extender input folder in case you want to change the MetaTrader instance.
Folder path and data organization
The Meta Extender manages its file and folder input and output within the live folder. You can access these folders via the Windows start menu or through a shortcut configured on your Windows desktop, as shown in the image below.
Navigating further down the file structure, you'll find the UserInterface.txt file for each symbol. This file contains all the settings that are stored on your computer. The entire folder tree, starting with the live folder, is illustrated below.
Alternatively, you can access the Settings input folder by entering the designated path into your Windows folder browser.

<META_TRADER_INSTANCE_NAME> shall be your MetaTrader instance name, for example, MetaTrader 4 IC Markets.
Setting file content
The following section provides an example of a settings file. This file can be modified according to your requirements. However, if the format becomes invalid due to these modifications, the Meta Extender will generate a new settings file. This example serves as an informative supplement to this documentation.
